Ride 2 Recovery Florida Challenge

On December 12, 2009, more than 100 injured veterans will set off down the Florida coast on the six- day Ride 2 Recovery Florida Challenge. Ride 2 Recovery’s First Annual Florida Challenge ride raises funds to support Spinning® and outdoor cycling programs at Military and VA locations around the U.S., and the ride aides the rehabilitation and recovery efforts of the wounded warriors.
Ride 2 Recovery improves the health and wellness of injured veterans through cycling. Cycling, which almost all patients with mental and physical disabilities can participate in, is an important part of the recovery process because it helps to speed up the rehabilitation process.
The ride will begin Saturday, December 12 in Tampa Bay and end on Thursday, December 17 at the USO in Mayport. The American Legion Riders will provide a motorcycle escort during the event and several Posts will sponsor rest stops and dinners.
