Tern Link

If you guys want a mid-priced, folding bike that performs well, has good Shimano parts, then go for the Tern Link D8.

I have tried several folding bikes. I think the Tern Link D8 is the ideal bike.

I think that tells you a lot about the quality of the product. After seven years of constant use, it is still very good. I’m very happy with it, and I recommend it to you if you don’t have one.

I think this bike is better if you want to go shopping or just go for an easy ride in the city. I’m sorry, but it’s just a little bit too big for me to carry in my bag.

The truth is that I’m super happy and I highly recommend this, and I think you can travel with this. It’s very well suited to local journeys and also longer cycle touring rides.

The D8 is quite comfortable. It is also super practical because it folds…, it is super maneuverable… and besides the beautiful design…, it is super functional.

This is a good entry-level bike from Tern, but the price is a bit high for the spec.

This folding bicycle has a lot of amazing features that my 16-inch folding bicycle doesn’t have. Even though it’s not as compact, it still folds up into a small size.

I really am disappointed to find problems with the design and manufacturing quality, given the money we spent. That said, the bike is otherwise incredible.  Seriously.  We love the ride, we love the look, we love essentially everything else about it.

As a piece of engineering, the Tern is a marvel. I do have a few quibbles with the bike. Still, those are small complaints for a bike that surprised me with its functionality and rideability and I can see the bike being useful in many situations.

Way I see it, if you want a bike that can be used for commute and even short bikepacking rides around the country, the D7i would be it.

Overall, it’s a good starting folding bike. It rides smooth and quiet. The 8 speed is good enough for city riding but you need to upgrade your legs if you want to climb Tagaytay.

If you don’t need the bells and whistles and just want to get from A to B, the Link A7 cannot be faulted. We think it offers a good value for money, even if some folders on market can be had much cheaper.

The main conclusion is, as always when we talk about Tern, congratulate the team.

Is the Link D8 still a great bike in terms of quality / price ratio? Well, honestly, I think that now even more than before.

Even if you usually ride a racing bike or mountain bike: it’s simply an ideal city bike, a city bike. Not just for train travel.

The Tern Link D7i convinces with great driving characteristics and a cool look. It just doesn’t cut such a good figure when folded.

We tested three folding bikes that could hardly be more different. If you look pragmatically at the price and good handling, the Tern Link D7i is definitely a good choice.
