BikeRide finds and shows you the best prices of the bikes you want to buy. Prices constantly change and it’s impossible to compare them all yourself.
We search for prices on over 120 bike retailers to guarantee that we find the lowest prices – to save you time and money.
It’s a promise we stand behind: If you find a lower price on a bike elsewhere, we will sell it to you for 10% less. For example, if you find a bike for $480 that we have listed at $500, we will offer you to buy it for $432 through BikeRide. The bike must be the same color and size, sold in the US and not include the use of a coupon.
If you find a lower price, email us at [email protected] with documentation of the price. We’re committed to making sure that the cost of a bike does not keep you from cycling!

Summary of Reviews
We have read all expert and user reviews on the Marin Pine Mountain. In summary, this is what cyclists think.
12 reasons to buy
- The Pine Mountain is littered with bosses and eyelets - for racks and bottles galore.
- Many riders found the Pine Mountain to be a good value buy.
- SRAM GX gears shift well and keep the chain from slapping. Reviewers said the 10-speed cassette offered plenty of range.
- Owners loved the steel tubing, saying it was comfortable, robust, light, stiff and soaked up bumps.
- Connoisseurs enjoyed the retro simplicity of the Pine Mountain.
- Shimano M445 Hydraulic brakes proved dependable for trail-riders.
- Looks, detailing and color options were described as considered and attractive.
- The Pine Mountain easily handled snowy conditions, with fat 3.0 tires
- Components were considered good quality and value.
- External cabling was easy to repair, especially when travelling.
- This steed served owners very well as a bikepacking bike.
- Owners found that this rig climbed well, despite its weight.
7 reasons not to buy
- With its massive plus-size tires, this is a somewhat heavy bike.
- Trail-riders found the Pine Mountain to be a bit more nervous on the descents.
- Quick-release wheels detracted from handling accuracy for some, who would’ve preferred thru-axles.
- There is no dropper-post on the Pine Mountain 1s and 2s.
- Compared to a suspension rig, it was less confidence in loose conditions.
- Some owners felt that the top-tube should be longer for trail applications.
- One expert noticed rubbing from the front disc when the bike was really pressured.
Bottom line
This was a new kind of bike for many owners and reviewers, who found it lively, simple and immensely fun. Rigid models do require a more focused riding style (than front shocks), when tackling rough and technical terrain. Then again, the rigidity allows for long bikepacking and touring travails. Compared with the competition, it’s a cut-price option. With this supple steel chassis, you’ll be soaking up the bumps and sunshine all day.Expert Reviews
