BikeRide finds and shows you the best prices of the bikes you want to buy. Prices constantly change and it’s impossible to compare them all yourself.

We search for prices on over 120 bike retailers to guarantee that we find the lowest prices – to save you time and money.

It’s a promise we stand behind: If you find a lower price on a bike elsewhere, we will sell it to you for 10% less. For example, if you find a bike for $480 that we have listed at $500, we will offer you to buy it for $432 through BikeRide. The bike must be the same color and size, sold in the US and not include the use of a coupon.

If you find a lower price, email us at [email protected] with documentation of the price. We’re committed to making sure that the cost of a bike does not keep you from cycling!

Summary of Reviews

We have read all expert and user reviews on the Mukkpet Stepwagon. In summary, this is what cyclists think.

9 reasons to buy

  • An expert praises the responsive throttle and pedal assist power and quick acceleration.
  • In testing, Stepwagon handles steep inclines using the throttle alone.
  • The Stepwagon’s total battery capacity (1,420Wh) is well above average at this price.
  • Mukkpet provides two 3A chargers for faster charging.
  • Reviewers say the hydraulic disc brakes provide good stopping power.
  • The Stepwagon comes with fenders and integrated lights with rear turn signals and brake activation.
  • The color display has a USB port for charging devices.
  • The 3” tires and long wheelbase provide a stable ride, according to a reviewer.
  • The Stepwagon’s step-through frame is easy to mount and dismount.

12 reasons not to buy

  • Most reviewers find the bike aesthetically unappealing.
  • A tester reports ghost pedaling at 21mph.
  • A tester says the bike’s rear flexes, raising doubts about its sturdiness.
  • Mukkpet lists the top speed at 25mph, but testers exceed 20mph using the throttle, which is illegal in most states.
  • The Stepwagon’s size and weight may complicate storage or transportation.
  • The minimum seat height of 34.6" may not suit riders at the low end of the stated height range (5’5” to 6’4”).
  • Mukkpet doesn’t currently offer model-specific accessories, though the frame has multiple mounts.
  • The 300lb payload capacity is low for a cargo e-bike, and Mukkpet doesn’t list a rear rack capacity.
  • Testers have difficulty seeing the display in sunlight.
  • A tester receives the bike with scratches due to poor packaging. Mukkpet claims to have improved its packaging since this complaint.
  • Confusingly, Mukkpet ships the saddle separately to the bike.
  • The owner’s manual and product webpage offer contradictory payload capacities and top speeds.

Bottom line

The Mukkpet Stepwagon is a cargo e-bike with a 750W motor and two 15A batteries. The responsive, powerful motor, brakes, and high battery capacity earn praise from experts. However, the carrying capacity is below average for the category, and Mukkpet doesn’t offer any model-specific accessories. Other issues include ghost pedaling at around 21mph and poor maneuverability. Overall, the Stepwagon’s low price makes it a reasonable option for light cargo duties, but competing models, such as Velotric’s Packer 1 or Aventon’s Abound, offer more carrying capacity and accessories at a similar price.

The Minivan of Electric Bikes! Why You Need a Mukkpet Stepwagon!

It’s very Mad Max with all of this scaffolding, all the pipes, and everything right here. They have all kinds of accessories you can put on, but it’s not the best-looking bike if you ask me, it’s just very multi-functional.

Unboxing the Mukkpet Stepwagon

[My] first impression is it’s fast, it’s got a lot of power, it handles well. [It] wasn’t too hard to put together out of the box, [but] not quite as easy as some of the others.
