Summary of Reviews

We have read all expert and user reviews on the Puckipuppy Husky. In summary, this is what cyclists think.

9 reasons to buy

  • Puckipuppy offers the Husky in a single or dual-battery build (Husky Plus).
  • This trike has an above-average payload capacity of 500lb.
  • The plush seat and backrest feel like sitting on a couch, according to a tester.
  • A reviewer appreciates the responsive pedal assist.
  • In testing, the trike handles grass and hardpacked dirt roads thanks to the knobby fat tires.
  • This e-trike comes with a headlight, a taillight with brake activation, a rear basket and bag, and fenders.
  • The Husky Plus has above-average battery capacity from two units totaling 1,584Wh.
  • The handlebar has 7" of height adjustment.
  • The left brake lever doubles as a parking brake.

14 reasons not to buy

  • Reviewers say folding the Husky and Husky Plus is pointless as they're difficult to fold, bulky when folded, extremely heavy, and overall not portable.
  • The top speed of 20mph is uneccessary for an eletric trike, and reviewers feel unstable at this speed.
  • The Husky builds are very heavy at 134lb (standard) and 148lb (Husky Plus).
  • The trike's braking power is unremarkable, and the 160mm rotors are too small for a machine that weighs over 130lb.
  • Two experts report side-to-side play in the telescoping stem.
  • The Husky Plus's down tube-integrated 15Ah battery cannot be charged on the bike.
  • Riders at the low end of the 5'0" to 6'2" height range may struggle to fit.
  • A reviewer complains that the low-end non-adjustable suspension fork doesn’t do much.
  • Several reviewers have difficulty fitting the rear fenders so they don't rub the tires.
  • One test bike’s control pad fits loosely on the handlebars despite being tightened fully.
  • A reviewer says reinserting the down tube battery on the Husky Plus requires a hard push.
  • An expert finds it difficult to pedal starting from a stop if not in the lowest gear.
  • Two testers find the battery indicator difficult to interpret.
  • The seat on one test bike rocks back and forth and won’t tighten fully.

Bottom line

The Puckipuppy Husky is a fat-tire folding electric trike available as with one battery or two (Husky Plus). Reviewers appreciate the high payload capacity, responsive pedal assist, comfortable seat, and adjustable handlebars. Several testers feel unstable at the top speed of 20mph, and some find it unsteady while taking corners, even at low speeds. Complaints highlight the useless folding capability, lengthy charging, unrealistic height range, ineffective suspension, and wobbly components. Overall, the Husky is more expensive than competitors, and, though comfortable, testers find it challenging to ride.

You’re not going to be flying around corners, the thing will tip over… three wheels loaded up with all kinds of stuff in that front basket, rear basket, that’s where the value is with this.

Puckipuppy Husky Plus Electric Trike With Dual Batteries Review

I’m kind of feeling uncomfortable [when making] sharp turns, but so far, it’s not bad. It cannot really climb the hill over here from a stop with my weight… it’s not as powerful without pedaling.
